SUGAR HILL CRANBERRY CO. is located in downeast Maine in the valley of Sugar Hill where the Alexander Family grows three varieties of cranberries on ten acres of bogs.
Pilgrim cranberries are the largest we grow and is essentially used for juice. They are HUGE as you can see!
Our most popular variety for fresh fruit are the Stevens, which you can see are larger than what you traditionally purchase at your local market.
Howes is the smallest cranberry we grow and are perfect size for baking and they do have the longest shelf life, because they are a late harvest cranberry.
Cranberry growing is a year-round endeavor with something always that needs to be done! From early blossoms and frost protection , bee pollination and irrigating, harvesting to winter flood, and eventually sanding during the winter months.
